Summer 2020 Events – UPDATE

Summer Training WILL begin on June 23rd.  Please note the Groups & Times below.  Note, to attend please check your email for further instrctions and you must bring the Waiver Form  to the first practice.  Players please do the following Health Screening Checklist  before coming to soccer.

Tuesdays and Thursday training at Washburn Stadium.
Group 1: 8:00 am -9:00 am (7:50 begin entering) South half of field
(returning players from Varsity, JV Orange, and JV Blue upperclassmen, those going into 11th and 12th grades.)
Group 2: 8:30 am -9:30 am (8:20 begin entering) North half of field
(new players, those returning from B Squad and JV Blue 9th and 10th graders.)

RULES-Phase 2 (MPS)

-Stay near vehicle, bike, etc until your designated time to enter the stadium/field.
-Bring your own water bottle and do not share water bottles.
-Bring your own soccer ball, if you do not have one a ball will be provided.
-Groups of less than 25 or more people per third of the stadium. Workouts will consist of the same groups– with proper social-distancing of at least 6 feet between all athletes and coaches. These groups will stay the same though Phase 2.
-Students will be encouraged to go directly home after a workout.

Stadium Entry

-Each player will have their temperature taken upon arrival. Hand sanitizer will be utilized.
-Players will enter through gate located on NW side of bleacher by concession stand.
-Bags will be placed along track 2 yards apart from each other.
-Players will exit through gate located on SW side of bleachers.


-If you do not feel well, DO NOT COME TO TRAINING.
-Players will be monitored by coaches during training sessions.
-It is important that you enter and leave the facility in a timely manner. No hanging around.
-No sharing of water bottles!!
-ALL TRAINING IS OPTIONAL, there is no requirement for you as a player to come.

Thanks for adjusting to all the changes. Our plan is to be able to be together safely and work on soccer skills and fitness (and have some fun.) We are excited to be together. Please reach out with any questions.


Ella Endo – Athena Award Winner

Congratulations to our 2020 Athena Award Recipient Ella Endo. Ella has been a stellar student-athlete while at Washburn. She was a 1st Team All-State in Soccer, a Ms. Soccer Finalist, and a State Qualifier in Nordic Ski. She also received 12 Varsity Letters in Soccer, Nordic Ski, Badminton, and Track & Field. Ella’s plan is to study Art and Graphic Design next year in college. Congratulations and best of luck to you in your future endeavors and keep representing MILLER PRIDE!

Winter Conditioning & other info

– Strength and Conditioning in the Washburn Weight Room will start after school on Wednesdays and Fridays beginning February 5, 2020 for those without after school commitments (3:10-4:00).

– Spring Summer Dates
Fuller Jamboree Coaching – Saturday, May 2nd 8:45-11am
Summer Youth Camp Coaching- June 22-25th 8:40-11am
Summer Training- TBD
Fall Soccer Starts August 17th

As you are or will thinking about college, we want you to know there may be opportunities for you to play soccer if you want that to be part of your college experience. Reuben and I can be a resource or support for you. Feel free to contact us.

Ella is a finalist for Class AA Ms Soccer MN, which recognizes an outstanding senior player.  Other finalists include: Sophia Boman, Edina; Kaitlyn Hanson, Lakeville South; Kelsey Kallio, Andover and Paige Peltier, Cretin-Derham Hall.  Winner will be named at the State Tournament Banquet.

It’s back to back to back to…you get the idea. Washburn Soccer Boys & Girls wrap up their seasons with a full day of games at Washburn Stadium. Girls B-squad starts things off at 9 am, followed by Boys JV (11), Girls JVO (1), Girls Varsity (3) & Boys Varsity at 5

Soccerfest 2019

A major fundraising event for Washburn boys and girls soccer, this Adults Only house party will feature pizza, beer & wine. Friday, Oct 4th 7-11pm at the Walthour Home – 5049 Colfax Ave S.
